Thesis title: Dalla 'Historia destructionis Troiae' al 'Volgarizzamento di Anonimo'. Studi sulla tradizione manoscritta

The subject of this thesis is the Volgarizzamento di Anonimo (mid 14th century), a Tuscan volgarizzamento of Guido de Columnis’ Historia destructionis Troiae. The study is divided into three parts. The first chapter aims to provide an overview of the work and the characteristics of his manuscripts. The second chapter aims to examine the additional sources (other than the main one, i.e. the work of Guido de Columni’s) on which the work is based. This study revealed the close relationship between the Anonymous Volgarization and works such as the Histoire ancienne juqu'à César, the Tresor and the mises en prose of the Roman de Troie. Finally, the third chapter attempts to classify the witnesses on a textual basis. In particular, it proposes a comparison of certain loci critici and a reflection on the internal division of each manuscript.
