Samantha Conte is a PhD candidate in Communication, Social Research and Marketing. She holds a Master's Degree in Digital Communication and a Bachelor's Degree in Communication, Innovation and Multimedia, both awarded with the highest distinction (110/110 cum laude), with academic training at San Francisco State University, Lake Como School of Advanced Studies, and KU Leuven – ECPR.
Her research sits at the intersection of Platform Studies and Digital Methods, with a focus on how algorithmic infrastructures, particularly TikTok, shape visibility, civic agency, and social movements as spaces of political expression. She has also contributed to projects on digital activism, media coverage of climate change, algorithmic fairness, and digital methods for studying user practices on platforms.
