Riccardo Barbieri è Professore Associato di Bioingegneria (ING-INF/06) al Dipartimento di Elettronica, Informazione e Bioingegneria, Politecnico di Milano

Ha conseguito la laurea in Ingegneria Elettronica (1992, Sapienza Universita’ di Roma) e il dottorato di ricerca in Ingegneria Biomedica (1998, Boston University, Boston, MA USA). Tra 1998 ed il 2007 è stato ricercatore, e tra il 2007 e 2015 Assistente Professore, presso il Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School. Dal 2015 e’ Professore associato presso il Politecnico di Milano. La sua attività scientifica si inquadra nella ricerca metodologica e applicata mediante elaborazione di segnali neurofisiologici e cardiovascolari, incluso lo sviluppo di modelli asse cuore-cervello per scopi diagnostici/predittivi in campo clinico.

Il Professor Barbieri e’ considerato un esperto internazionale nel campo delle Neuroscienze e in Elaborazione di Segnali del Sistema Cardiovascolare. E' coautore di 194 articoli su rivista internazionale e contributi a conferenza, con piu di 3300 citazioni. E' stato Principal Investigator (PI) di progetti finanziati dal National Institute of Health (NIH) e ha partecipato a numerosi progetti nazionali e internazionali. In qualità di esperto di Segnali Neurali e Cardiovascolari e’ stato relatore invitato/keynote in diverse conferenze internazionali. E' attualmente Editor-in-Chief della IEEE EMB international conference board.

Insegna nella laurea magistrale in Bioingegneria, Politecnico di Milano: Bioengineering of Neurosensory Systems – 5 CFU; Advanced Data and Signal Processing in Medicine - 5 CFU.

E' membro del Collegio dei docenti del Corso di dottorato in Automatica, bioingegneria e ricerca operativa di Sapienza Università di Roma

E' stato relatore di oltre 30 tesi di laurea magistrale e 3 tesi di dottorato.
