She is a PhD candidate in Communication, Social Research and Marketing (XL cycle) at the Department of Communication and Social Research (CORIS) of Sapienza University of Rome and a member of the research group of the PRIN 2022 PNRR “Gendering Internet project. Violence, Resilience and Empowerment in Digital Spaces – GIVRE”.
Her research interests lie within media studies and gender studies and concern public communication and the role of the media in the processes of social construction of inequalities, with particular attention to gender-based violence, discrimination, equal opportunities, and advocacy. Methodologically, it uses qualitative and quantitative approaches, with particular attention to media analysis, discourse analysis, and the study of social representations.
She earned a master's degree in Public and Political Communication from the University of Turin with a thesis on the role of proximity information in the local network combating gender-based violence. She was subsequently a research fellow in projects dedicated to monitoring discrimination in local media, as well as a subject matter scholar and teaching assistant for the Sociology of Communication course. At the same time, she gained experience in anti-violence centers, obtaining the qualification of operator recognized by the Piedmont Region and collaborating on the coordination staff of the national project SOS – Sostegno Orfani Speciali, dedicated to supporting orphans of femicide and domestic violence.
