The research activity is in the field of fruit trees and vines’ agro-ecosystems, physical environment, evaluation of environmental sustainability of tree crop agro-ecosystems, sustainable use of genetic resources and urban horticulture. Studies are carried out in the field of the traditional and modern agricultural landscapes in collaboration with Italian and European Universities and the Italian Council for Agricultural Research and Economics (CREA).
The research activity carried out in the field of viticulture is focused on territorial zonation, environmental impact of modern and traditional viticulture, biodiversity preservation, viticultural landscape structure and function, sustainable and multifunctional viticulture. Research is also carried out in the field of environment and agricultural landscape management both in the rural and urban contests.
