Research: Bio-based polymeric binders for chemical properties improvement and the increase of paper technology applications

Riccardo Sergi was born in Rome in 1994. In 2019 he obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Chemistry with a thesis on the preparation and physical-mechanical characterization of chitosan-based porous scaffolds. In 2022 he obtained a Master’s Degree in Industrial Chemistry (specialization in Polymeric Materials) with a vote of 110/110 cum laude, discussing a thesis on the preparation and characterization of polydiacetylenic vesicles for sensing applications. From July 2022 to May 2023 he got a research fellowship at the ISMN Institute of the CNR as part of the STImuli responsive MAterials 4D for Space (STIMA4S) project. Since June 2023 he is the holder of a PhD grant in Chemical Sciences at the Chemistry department of Sapienza University of Rome, as part of the partnership with industries and the Regione Lazio, for the development of bio-based polymer binders for chemical properties improvement and the increase of paper technology applications.
