Research:

This research project aims to examine the contribution of gender security studies to the debate that has swept through the field of international security studies in the decades following the end of the Cold War. In particular, by analyzing the securitization theory of the Copenhagen school and its dialogue with feminist theories of the 1990s and early 2000s, the research will examine the elements of voice, silence and the female body and their use in the processes of formulating security issues, with a specific focus on the case studies of Afghanistan and Iran. It will also systematize the different interpretations of the relationship between gender dynamics, power relations and security policies and highlight the identity, normative and performative implications linked to them.
