Research: Preparation and application of cyclodextrin-based nanosponges as sustainable sorbents
Nina Felli graduated from La Sapienza University of Rome in 2021 with a master’s degree in Analytical Chemistry with final mark 110/110 cum laude. She carried out the internship at the Istituto Superiore di Sanità, in the Chemical Food Safety Department - Department of Food Safety, Nutrition and Veterinary Public Health, with the aim of assessing the risk associated with dietary exposure to acrylamide, which is a known carcinogen, because of the baby food’s consumption.
After winning the XXXVII PON PhD competition in Chemical Sciences on green issues, under the supervision of Professor Alessandra Gentili, she will work on the synthesis and subsequent application of cyclodextrin nanosponges as sustainable and low-cost adsorbent materials.
