Nicola de Toma is a civil servant at the Ministry of Culture (MiC) after passing a public competition on the basis of qualifications and examinations.
He is in charge of an Organisational Unit at the Ministry of Culture's headquarters in Rome, a former member of the Management Committee of the Central Institute for Intangible Heritage (ICPI) and a full member of the Evaluation Board of European Union Acts of the MiC.
He took part in the management of several projects for the improvement and enhancement of cultural services and particular projects related to the PNRR Culture 4.0

EDUCATION AND TRAINING

After graduating from classical high school, he graduated with honours in Economics and Business (old system) from the Faculty of Economics at the University of Bari “A. Moro” discussing a thesis in Economic History entitled “China. From economic reforms to high consumption growth” under the supervision of Professor Emeritus Antonio Di Vittorio, former Honorary President of the Italian Society of Economic Historians (SISE).
He subsequently qualified as a Chartered Accountant after passing the State examination at the aforementioned University.
He obtained certificates of participation in postgraduate university training courses and a Master's degree in Management of Sustainable Tourism.
He has participated in several professional training courses at the National School of Administration (SNA) and in online training courses organised by the MEF with relevant certificates.
He is currently a PhD student in Communication, Social Research and Marketing at Sapienza University of Rome.
His main research interests include social cohesion and inclusion and cultural policies; the relationship between organisations, culture and local development; interaction between cultural history and economic and social history; cultural studies; participatory democracy.
