Thesis title: Metodologie di Applicazione delle tecnologie H-BIM ai cantieri Archeologici di restauro e valorizzazione. Casi di studio del Santuario di Apollo a Hierapolis di Frigia.
The PhD research focuses on the application of digital technologies for the documentation, analysis, and management of archaeological restoration sites, with particular attention to the use of Building Information Modeling (BIM) and its adaptation to cultural heritage (H-BIM). The main objective is to define an integrated methodology capable of structuring, validating, and managing data derived from the survey, restoration, and reconstruction activities of the monumental complexes within the Sanctuary of Apollo at Hierapolis of Phrygia.
Through the implementation of interoperable platforms (Graphisoft Archicad, IFC, GIS, and photogrammetric systems), a workflow has been developed to optimize modeling processes, ensuring methodological transparency and data traceability. The adoption of the H-BIM paradigm as an archaeological research tool allows for the integration of heterogeneous information—metric, material, historical, and diachronic—into a unified information system that supports decision-making in restoration and valorization phases.
The achieved results include the definition of consolidated operational procedures for the management of 3D models and the validation of an experimental system, designed to promote accessibility, sharing, and scientific verification of archaeological data. The ongoing thesis work represents a methodological contribution to the discussion on the integration of digital technologies in the conservation and management processes of archaeological heritage.
