Massimo Reverberi graduated with honors in Biological Sciences in 1996 and received his Ph.D. in Botanical Studies in 2001 at the University of Rome "La Sapienza". He held the post doc at the CNR-IBAF of the research area of ​​Rome -Montelibretti from 2002 to 2004 and was a contract researcher at the "La Sapienza" from 2004 to 2007. He was Adjunct Professor of Plant Pathology at L University of L'Aquila from 2006 to 2008.
In 2007 he became Researcher (SSD: AGR12) at the University of Rome "La Sapienza" - Latina office where he was Professor in charge of the Phytopathological Biotechnology course at the Faculty of Agro-Industrial Biotechnology of the same University. In 2013 he obtained the ASN as a PA for the SSD AGR / 12 and in 2014 as a PO in the same SSD. He is the owner of 2 courses: plant physiopathology in the three-year degree of agro-industrial biotechnology and integrated protection of plants of nutritional interest in the course of master's degree in food technology and quality.
The main themes of his research focus on different aspects of the interaction between cereals and fungal pathogens, producers and not of mycotoxins. In particular, the researches deal with 3 main themes: the study of the molecular and biochemical bases of the fungus-plant interaction; the identification and characterization of natural compounds to protect cereals from fungal pathogens; the design of methodologies to detect pathogenic fungi and mycotoxins in vegetable matrices.
He has participated in several community projects of the 5th-6th-7th PQ and H2020 on the control of mycotoxin production (aflatoxins, ochratoxins and fusariotoxins) in foodstuffs and on the application of the integrated fight against fungi responsible for post-harvest infections. . He has been involved in various research units, as coordinator and unit manager, in national projects.
He is the author of about 80 indexed publications on ISI and Scopus, has an H index of 24 and is in the first decile of productivity of Italian researchers of the SSD AGR / 12 and in the top 10 of all the researchers in his field (loop).
