Research: Recycling of cigarette filters: recovery of cellulose acetate for the preparation of low-cost adsorbent materials.
Massimo Giuseppe De Cesaris graduated from La Sapienza University of Rome in October 2021 with a Master Degree in Analytical Chemistry with final mark 110/110 cum laude. His thesis focused on the enantioseparation of antifungal drugs by capillary electrochromatography. Since November 2021 he is a Chemical Sciences PhD student, concerning topics of interest for the "green analytical chemistry, working under the supervision of Professor Alessandra Gentili. His research is currently focused on the recycling of cellulose acetate from used cigarette filters for the preparation of low cost adsorbent materials.
