Research: Environmental Protection in the Authorization Procedures for Space Activities
Martina Carrato obtained her Master’s Degree in Law from Sapienza University of Rome on October 13, 2022, graduating with full marks (110/110) with honors and an academic distinction for merit and for her thesis.
She was awarded as an Excellent Graduate for the academic year 2021/2022 by the Sapienza Foundation at Sapienza University of Rome.
She successfully completed the internship pursuant to Article 73 of Decree-Law No. 69/2013 at the Regional Administrative Court (TAR) of Lazio, Rome.
Since November 2024, she has been a Ph.D. candidate in Public, Comparative, and International Law (40th Cycle) at the Faculty of Political Science, Sapienza University of Rome, following the curriculum in Administrative Law of the Environment and Public Health, with a research dissertation on the authorization procedures for space activities.
She serves as a teaching assistant (“cultrice della materia”) in Administrative Law at both the Faculty of Law of Sapienza University of Rome and LUISS Guido Carli University.
She collaborates with the Chair of Administrative Law II (Group A–L) at the Faculty of Law, Sapienza University of Rome, under Professor Andrea Carbone; she also collaborates with the Chair of Administrative Law at the Faculty of Law, LUISS Guido Carli University, under Professor Aldo Sandulli.
Starting from December 2024, she collaborates with GIUST-AMM – Rivista di Diritto Pubblico, contributing to the Environmental Law and Health Law Observatories, with particular focus on European legislation and case law.
She participated as a speaker at the 6th Annual ICON(S) Conference, “The State vis-à-vis: Economic and Private Powers in the Digital Age” (University of Cagliari, October 2025), delivering two presentations: the first on the powers of AGCOM in countering disinformation, and the second on the topic of greenwashing.
She is a member of the organizing committee for several conferences and seminar initiatives.
She is the author of academic publications.
