Mario Carnevale (born in Agnone, 1998) earned his Bachelor’s degree in Art History and Cultural Heritage Studies in September 2022 at Sapienza University of Rome, with a thesis in Medieval Art History entitled "The Cathedral of Venafro" (supervisor: Prof. Anna Maria D’Achille).
In March 2025, he completed his Master’s degree in Art History with highest honors, presenting a thesis focused on the lost oratory of Pope Formosus (891–896) in Rome (supervisor: Prof. Manuela Gianandrea; co-supervisor: Prof. Alessandro Taddei). During his academic studies, he completed a curricular internship at the Sovrintendenza Capitolina – Directorate of Civic Museums (Piazza San Pantaleo, 10, Rome). Between 2024 and 2025, he collaborated in the organization of the monographic exhibition "Maria Barosso, Artist and Archaeologist in a Changing Rome, curated by A.M. D’Amelio, M. Gianandrea, I. Miarelli Mariani, and D. Palombi (Centrale Montemartini, Rome, 17 October 2025 – 22 February 2026).
He is currently a PhD candidate in Art History (XLI cycle) at Sapienza University of Rome.
