Research activity The scientific activity of Prof. Luisa Mannina is focused on the study of food matrices performed by means of Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) spectroscopy. She has developed a protocol that includes the study of metabolic profile of the matrix of interest and according to the specific problem the statistical elaboration of the NMR data. Using this protocol, different foods, such as olive oils, seabass, truffles, kiwifruits, blueberries, honey, peaches, OGM products etc have been studied and characterized according to the geographical origin, variety, quality and farming. She has published more than 160 papers on International and National journals. She has been invited for plenary lectures regarding the applications of NMR-based metabolomics. She has scientific collaborations with researchers of European Universities and Research Centers.
