After completing their education at Pisa University and the Scuola Normale Superiore, Luigi Del Debbio has held postdoctoral position in the United Kingdom, France and at CERN, before joining the faculty at the University of Edinburgh. Del Debbio is currently based at the University of Edinburgh. Their research primarily focuses on theoretical physics, with particular expertise in lattice quantum field theory, quantum chromodynamics (QCD), and computational physics. They have contributed to advancing the understanding of strong interactions in particle physics and have worked extensively with numerical simulations on large High Performance Computing resources. Del Debbio is also involved in interdisciplinary research, collaborating with both academic and industry partners. They are involved in various roles in the devlopment of the HPC ecosystem in Europe, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.
