Research: How to improve Human Resource Development through Artificial Intelligence: Research on the readiness of the market, companies, and individuals to accept Artificial Intelligence as an alternative to classical human-to-human relationship-based training
Passionate about Information Technology since childhood, Francesco Laviola is a fierce advocate of a unifying vision of knowledge, technology and knowledge economy.
He earned a Bachelor's degree in Business Informatics from the University of Studies "G. d'Annunzio" Chieti - Pescara.
After a Master's degree in Technology Management, Innovation and Sustainability at Sapienza University of Rome earned with honors, he is currently a Ph.D. Candidate in Business Management also at Sapienza.
He collaborates with Rocky Robots Srl (Rocky.ai) as part of his doctoral research activity. He conducts research mainly in the areas of Innovation Management and Technology Management, with a primary focus on the implications of Artificial Intelligence on Human Resource Management and Development paradigms and processes.
He is also engaged in research in the areas of entrepreneurship, specifically student and unconventional entrepreneurship, and Corporate Governance, mainly on ESG factors.
Winner of a public competition by titles and colloquium launched by the Department of Management of Sapienza University of Rome, he held in the Academic Year 2021/22 the position of Course Tutor for the Advanced Training Course in Packaging Management. In the same year, he was the winner of two competitions for titles and interviews announced by the Faculty of Economics of Sapienza University of Rome, the first for the assignment to PhD students of the Faculty of 4 grants for performing orientation and monitoring activities aimed at tutoring activities (1 grant won) and the second for 6 grants for performing tutoring activities for Public Administration employees (2 grants won).
He also won the University Research Call 2022, funded by Sapienza University of Rome, in the Early Stage Research - Type 1 section, with a research project proposal called "Acceptance, Adoption and Trust in Technology: the Case of Artificial Intelligence in Human Resource Development".
In March 2023, he was elected Ph.D. Students' representative on the Faculty Board of the Ph.D. Course in Management, Banking and Commodity Sciences for the years 2023-2025.
Also in Academic Year 2022/2023, he held the position of Course Tutor for the Advanced Training Course in Packaging Management.
Since 2023, he has provided supplementary and seminar teaching within the "Corporate Governance" course and the "Data Analysis for Business Decisions" laboratory.
In June 2023 has been awarded with the "Selected Paper" at Sinergie-SIMA Management Conference: the Scientific Committee included the paper entitled “Human Resource Development and Artificial Intelligence in the view of Personal Development: a literature review and bibliometric analysis” among the 10 papers worthy of publication in a special issue of the Sinergie Italian Journal of Management.
He won the University Research Call 2023, funded by Sapienza University of Rome, in the Early Stage Research - Type 1 section, with a research project proposal called "The antecedents of acceptance, adoption, and trust in Artificial Intelligence: a comprehensive survey of its strategic role in business processes".
Since November 2023, he is Assistant lecturer in Economics and Management of Sports Enterprises in the Management of Sport and Physical Activities Master's Degree (LM47).
As of January 2024, he has published in conferences and journals of national and international standing, and is involved in research projects including those of national interest (PRIN).
