Research: Museology of the Second Post-War Period: the Role of Art Historians and Historians in the Museums of Northern Italy

Julie Pezzali graduated at the Sapienza - Università di Roma where she obtained her Bachelor's Degree in Historical-Artistic Studies under the supervision of Professor Claudio Zambianchi and her Master's Degree under the supervision of Professor Antonella Sbrilli. In 2022, she graduated at the same University at the School of Specialisation in Historical-Artistic Heritage with a thesis entitled 'Post-war Museology: the Sabauda Gallery in Turin' under the supervision of Professor Valter Curzi and Professor Benedetta Cestelli Guidi and was awarded the title of “cultrice della materia” (L-ART/03).
She was afterwards a Junior Scholarship holder in the research project entitled “The Shape of Museum after World War II: A Historical Survey for Contemporaneity”, under the scientific supervision of Professor Valter Curzi, as part of which she designed and developed the “Italian Museum Archive”. She also carried out numerous internships inside museum institutions and, in 2023 at the 'Bollettino d'Arte' (DG-ABAP, MiC).
She is part of web editing of the review "Storia dell'Arte".
Since the academic year 2023/2024 she has been the winner of a PhD scholarship in History of Art at Sapienza – Università di Roma for a project entitled " Museology of the Second Post-War Period : the Role of Art Historians and Historians in the Museums of Northern Italy".
