With over ten years of experience in wall painting conservation, I have developed a broad skill set that spans from hands-on restoration to advanced documentation methods like multispectral imaging, photogrammetry, and 3D modelling. My work emphasizes both the scientific analysis behind conservation techniques and the practical application of these strategies, ensuring the conservation and integrity of cultural heritage. My role often extends into project management and collaborative work across disciplines, enhancing the effectiveness and reach of conservation projects.
I've had the opportunity to work with respected organizations, including the Courtauld Institute of Art and the Getty Conservation Institute, where I've contributed to significant conservation efforts. These experiences have reinforced the importance of education and training in heritage preservation, leading me to teach at the Courtauld Institute of Art and Universidad Externado de Colombia. My commitment to the field has motivated me to pursue a PhD in Heritage Science at the Italian National program, with a focus on investigating foaming agents in non-structural earthen-based grouts. This research aims to improve the stabilization of fragile wall paintings and decorative surfaces, advancing our knowledge and practices in conservation science for the benefit of future generations.
