Isabella Chiari (PhD) is Associate Professor of General Linguistics and Computational Linguistics in "La Sapienza" University of Rome, and currently holds courses for undergraduate students in General linguistics and graduate courses in Computational linguistics. She is also the founder and President of Amal for Education, a non-profit specializing in the field of refugee education, particularly in the Middle East and Amal Insani Yardım Derneği in Turkey, where she developed project in the field of education, gender equality and human rights, sport and cohesions, vocational training and mostly language education.
His research interests range from a methodological point of view, she deals with computational and statistical tools for textual analysis (corpus linguistics, frequency lexicons, basic vocabulary, electronic and computational lexicography), computer-mediated communication, methodological and social role and of education in situations of conflict, linguistic education and migration representation and terminology using experimental and computational tools and linguistic rights and accessibility.
She is the author of about seventy essays among which the books: Ridondanza e linguaggio (Carocci, 2002); Informatica e lingue naturali (Aracne, 2004); Introduzione alla linguistica computazionale (Laterza, 2007).
