Numerical integration of partial differential equations, in particular of hyperbolic kind. Finite differences and finite volume methods for conservation and balance laws, with particular emphasis on stiff problems and high order methods. Numerical preservation of equilibria and close to equilibrium solutions in system of balance laws, asymptotic preserving properties on reduced models. Noise reduction in Monte Carlo schemes, numerical integration of stiff kinetic models. Adaptive schemes: development of error indicators for the construction of adaptive grids, domain decomposition methods for multiscale kinetic problems. Spectral methods with stabilization of convection diffusion problems. Vortex methods in incompressible fluid dynamics.
