Giuseppe Quaranta is Associate Professor in Structural Engineering at Sapienza University of Rome (Italy) since September 3, 2019, and obtained the National Scientific Habilitation for the position of Full Professor in Structural Engineering in July 14, 2020. He received the PhD degree in Stuctural Engineering at Sapienza University of Rome on 2011. Previously, he was Postdoctoral Scholar at University of California at Davis (USA) during the period 2011-2012 and served as Assistant Professor in Structural Engineering at Sapienza University of Rome from 2012 to 2019. His research interests include structural monitoring (specifically, conventional and smart sensing systems for structural monitoring, dynamic identification, diagnostic of civil structures and infrastructures), vibrations control and structural concrete (both, buildings and bridges). He is involved in several dynamic monitoring projects, such as the dynamic identification of cable-stayed/suspension bridges and footbridges, the continuous wireless dynamic monitoring of the Colosseum in Rome (Italy), the reassessment of the leaning Tower of Pisa (Italy) based on seismic monitoring, and the dynamic identification of an innovative composite bamboo-steel truss structure for pedestrian bridges in Nanjing (P.R. China).
