University degree in Political Science at the Libera Università Internazionale degli Studi Sociali LUISS Guido Carli (Rome) with a final dissertation on "Environment and the right to information in Europe" (rapporteur: professor Maria Rita Saulle). Post graduate course in International Protection of Human Rights at the Faculty of Political Sciences of the Sapienza University, where since the year 2020 is an expert for the Environmental Justice and Climate Change Course.

She is a permanent researcher at the Istituto Superiore per la Protezione e la Ricerca Ambientale (ISPRA), with main expertise in marine environmental policy and law. In ISPRA she is Head of the Presidency Unit on the National Environmental Protection System established by law No. 132 of 2016 and member of the Institute Editorial Board. Since 2021 she is the Italian National Coordinator of the European Union Network for the Implementation of Environmental Law (www.impel.eu). Among international projects, she has been responsible of the BALMAS project workpackage on legal and policy aspects of the implementation of the Ballast Water Management Convention in the Adriatic Sea area. She was adviser of the Italian delegations at the International Maritime Organization (IMO) and at the United Nations Environment Programme/Mediterranean Action Plan. She was also member of several of task force and working groups established by the Ministry of Environment. From 2006 to 2011 she dealt with development aid in the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

She started the research career in the environmental law field with Nicola Greco, professor of constitutional law at the Messina University. She was teaching at the National School of Public Administration (SNA) environmental master courses and from 2011 to 2016, at the II Level Master University Course in Environmental Law, Faculty of Law of the University of Roma III.
