Research: Urbs e Civitas facing risk: urban planning, heat vulnerability and climate justice in European cities

PhD candidate in Peace Studies (curriculum in Architectures and Landscapes of Peace), with a research project on urban planning titled “Urbs e Civitas facing risk: urban planning, heat vulnerability and climate justice in European cities” within the Academic Disciplinary Sector (SSD) CEAR-12/A. He holds a single-cycle Master’s degree in Building Engineering-Architecture (LM-4 c.u.) from the University of Brescia, presenting a thesis entitled “The Decarbonization Pathway and Building Energy Modeling: From the State of the Art on Analysis Methods and Tools to Application on a Case Study.” Following two professional experiences—one as a design engineer at a firm with a strong focus on sustainable design, and another as a project manager in a construction company—he decided to pursue this advanced research program to further deepen his knowledge of urban planning. His academic and professional background has enabled him to develop an interdisciplinary approach aimed at sustainable design and planning in response to the increasingly complex challenges cities are called upon to face.
