Giovanna Santini is associate professor of Philology and Romance linguistics at the University of Tuscia since 2015.
In 2017 he obtained the scientific qualification as first level professor in the competition sector 10 / E1: Middle-Latin and Romance Philologies and Letters.
She graduated and obtained a PhD from the Department of Romance Studies of the University of Rome "La Sapienza".
She is mainly interested in the early Romance lyric poetry, with particular attention to the formal aspects, the intertextual dynamics and the interlinguistic relations, investigated in a historical and comparative key. In the context of ancient French lyric poetry, she also deals with the edition of manuscript sources and the critical edition of the texts. In all her studies she has always paid attention to the problems related to textual transmission and therefore also to the theoretical aspects and methods proper to text criticism. In the field of cognitive philology, she is interested in the cognitive processes that influence the development of literary works from a linguistic, formal and content point of view.
She collaborated on several Prin projects between the years 2002-2020.
She participates in the preparation of internationally renowned journals ("Critica del Testo", "Cognitive Philology") and is a member of the two main national and international Romance Philology societies (SIFR, SFR).
