Research:

Gianluca Bei is a PhD student in economic geography. He holds a a master’s degree in Applied Social Sciences at the University of Rome “La Sapienza” discussing a thesis about Platform Economy and the development of the companies of Airbnb and Uber in Rome. Subsequently, He obtained a postgraduate research scholarship at the Centre of Geographical Studies (CEG-ULISBOA), University of Lisbon. Currently, his PhD research has the aim of assessing the impact of the regulation policies the of platform-mediated short-term rentals in some among major European touristic cities. His interests are about the urban impacts of digital platforms and their political implications and he is involved in the Research Project of National Interest (PRIN 2017) "The short-term city: digital platforms and spatial (in)justice".
