The destructive repercussions of the global ecological crisis have urged the environmental debate to move beyond the sole scientific domain, permeating the political, media and cultural discourse. In recent decades, ecocritical literature and cultural production in the People's Republic of China has undergone a phase of growth and circulation as a result of the great prominence given to global and domestic ecological issues, such as biodiversity loss and natural contamination. The research will explore how Chinese artistic-literary artifacts produce meaning around ecological degradation and counteract top-down narratives . Thus, the cultural production of authors affected by ecological-disruptive activities will be inspected to comprehend the narratives arising around altered ecosystems. The study aims to analyse the various expressions of cultural production through a transdisciplinary and integrative approach, drawing from translation studies, political ecology, and cultural studies. In this context, linguistic and discourse analysis will serve as important tools for comprehending how these values and paradigms are conceived and developed, shedding light on ecological conflicts, the rise of environmental justice movements, and the potential contributions of written production towards transformational change to environmental sustainability.
