Professor of 'Bioethics' IN the degree courses OF Biological Sciences and Agro-Industrial Biotechnology and of 'Nutrition and Cultural Processes' IN the Degree Course in Food Science and Technology of the Faculty of Sciences M.F.N of Sapienza University of Rome. His research mainly concerns the transformations of the relationship between science, society and the development of scientific citizenship.
He participated in several national and international projects and conducted teaching and research activities IN foreign universities and institutes, including the 'Center for Philosophy of Natural and Social Science' of the London School of Economics and Political Science and the Istitut Louis-Jeantet d 'Histoire del la Mèdicine et de la Santè' of the University of Geneva.
He is a member of the board of the Italian Institute of Anthropology and of the Interuniversity Center of Historical and Epistemological Research on the Sciences of the Living (Res Viva), and founding member of the Italian Society of History, Philosophy and Social Studies of Biology and Medicine (BIOM). He was co-curator of the international exhibition "DNA. The great book of life "that was held at the Palaexpo in Rome during the period February-June 2017.
