Performative curatorship as an ecological methodology

The research that I will develop during the PhD course "Ecologies of the scene" at the University La Sapienza of Rome, is first of all a theoretical investigation that crosses on one hand the analysis and the development of the curatorial practice as a performative practice, that is as a transformative agent, and on the other hand a consequent mapping of interdisciplinary artistic experiences that have ecology as a theme, but at the same time are able to use ecologism as an intentional and projectual modality in the creation of cultural projects of different formats. The entire theoretical phase and the phase of collecting and cross-referencing the various data will then be aimed at creating a site-specific curatorial project on the city of Rome in collaboration with the Azienda Speciale Palaexpo.

The starting point of the project is a mapping and reconnaissance work first of all of a series of artistic and curatorial projects of visual and performing arts - performances, prose shows, dialogical devices, participatory projects, hybrid formats, festivals, cultural programming and exhibitions - national and international in the last years, in order to constitute a methodological palette, able to guide the collection of data and the subsequent implementation of the collected principles.
