Professor. Donatella CIALDEA
• Full Professor in Urban Planning ICAR/21 (08/F1 Planning and Urban- Regional Design).
• She started her career at the University of Molise in 1988 and she has been a Full Professor since 2004
• Graduated in Architecture at the University of Rome La Sapienza with 110/110 cum laude
• In the first session for the year 1982 she became qualified to practice as an architect
• She was the winner of a scholarship for the year 1987, by the National Research Council C.N.R., with points 70/70
Responsibilities
• At present she is a Member of the National Landscape Committee of the Italian Ministry of Cultural Heritage (Decreto di nomina Ministero per i Beni e le attività culturali Rep. N. 457 del 23 ottobre 2018)
• She was Member of the Commission for the attribution of National Scientific Ability to the functions of first and second level professors for the Competition Sector 08 / F1 - Planning and Urban Planning and Territorial Planning (article 8, paragraph 1, DDN 1531/ 2016), appointed by Directorial Decree of the Ministry of Education, University and Research n. 2419 of 31.10.2016
• At present she is the Director of the L.A.Co.S.T.A. Laboratory (Laboratory for activities relating to the Territorial Development and Environment) at the University of Molise in order to prepare students and operators in the Geographical Information Systems field): in 2005 she established the LACo.STA Laboratory, the University Centre aimed at training on issues of urban planning, that she led since 2005.
• At present she is the Scientific Responsible for the creation of the New Landscape Regional Plan for the Molise Region, ubder agreement 2011 (Founded € 280.000,00).
• She has been designed as the University of Molise Deputy for the UNISCAPE European Network of Universities (from 2015)
• In 2005, in the new Faculty of Engineering, she was designed as the Vice-Dean, as a result of DR 2017/2005.
• She was elected as the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Molise from 2008/09 to 2011/12, following the unanimous vote took place on January 8, 2009 with D. R. No 3 of 9 January 2009
• She was elected as President of the Civil Engineering Course until 2015
• She was designed as Vice-Rector of the University of Molise from 2004 to 2013
• She was Managing Director for the University within the CoPI “Conference of Deans of the Faculty of Engineering” from 2009 to 2015
• She was the Coordinator of the PhD Course “Analysis and Evaluation of the Landscape” from the cycle XX to XXVII
• At present she is part of the Teaching College of the PhD Course “Landscape Architecture and Environment” at the University La Sapienza in Rome (from the cycle XXX until now)
• She was the Scientific Coordinator of the International Master Level I Pro.D.U.C.T.I.V.E. Coast (Proposal for the Development of Urban and Coastal Territory in relation to the Value of the Environment), aimed at the technical-scientific training of a specific professional figure - the Selective Interpreter of Territorial Data)
• From 2015 she is associated with the Institute for Technologies Applied to Cultural Heritage of the National Research Council
• She is representative of the University Centre Laboratory l.a.co.sta (Laboratory for Activities Related to the Territorial Development and Environment) inside the SIU Society National Council (Società Italiana degli Urbanisti) from 2014 to date
• She was appointed by the University Senate for the Academic Year’s Inauguration Cerimony 2010/2011. In the presence of prof. Francesco Karrer, Chairman of the Board of Public Works, , the highest state-level technical advisory body. on 4 October 2010, the speech was given by Professor Donatella Cialdea, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering on the theme "Ancient Territories and New Scenarios ".
• She carried out the intensive activity in Evaluation of Research Projects (PRIN, FIRB, SIR, projects of technology transfer and cooperative than before industrialization for innovative companies with high potential, Academy Award and Research on research, publications, studies and educational programs related the River Contracts organized on the occasion of the IX and the X National Table on River Contracts from Altascuola under the auspices of UN World Water Assessment Programme (WWAP) UNESCO).

Professor Cialdea has been active researcher in the Urban and Territorial Planning field, with a focus on research questions at the intersection between these ERC Sectors:

SH2_9 Urban, regional and rural studies
SH2_10 Land use and regional planning
SH2_12 GIS, spatial analysis; big data in political, geographical and legal studies
In leading up to these lines of research, Professor Cialdea has written extensively and critically about planning tools, management of spatial data, creation of metadata, creation and management of Geographical Information Systems, Web GIS of urban and extra-urban territory.
Professor Cialdea has published 19 books and over one hundred sixty refereed research papers in these and related areas.
Her publications have appeared in leading international journals including Land Use Policy, International Journal of Sustainable Development and Planning, International Journal of Energy and Environment, International Journal of Design & Nature and Ecodynamics, WSEAS Transactions on Environment and Development, WIT Transactions on Ecology and The Environment and she has published several chapters in Ashgate, Springer and FrancoAngeli Editors Books.
Professor Cialdea is widely known for her 1996 and 2007 books (CIALDEA D.1996. Il Molise, una realtà in crescita. Professor Cialdea has consulted widely by Local Authorities, including, recently, by the Molise Region for the creation of the New Landscape Regional Plan.
