Education: Five-year degree in Civil Engineering in 1995 and PhD degree in Structural Engineering in 2000, at Sapienza University of Rome.
Academic carrier: Associate professor of Solids and Structural Mechanics at the Faculty of Civil and Industrial Engineering since 2007. Winner of the national competition for the qualification as Full Professor of Solids and Structural Mechanics in 2017. Winner of the national competition for the qualification as Associate Professor of Solids and Structural Mechanics in 2015.
Institutional role: President of the Bachelor and Master Programme in Civil Engineering at Sapienza University of Rome.
Teaching activities: Statics, Theory of Structures, Finite Elements in Structural Analysis.
Current research interests: Micromechanical, macromechanical and multiscale modelling of heterogeneous composite materials; Mechanics of masonry structures; Advanced Finite Element Formulations for beams, solids, plates and shells; VEM formulaions; Modeling of metamaterials.
