Research: The Roman guidebooks from 1791 to 1841: antiquarianism and the birth of museums
Damiano Delle Fave obtained in 2019 the Bachelo’s Degree in Historical-Artistic Studies cum laude from the University of Rome “Tor Vergata” in 2016 and the Master’s Degree in History of Art cum laude from the same university in 2018. In 2021 he obtained the School of Specialization in Historical-Artistic Heritage at the University of Bologna.
He hid the following internships: voluntary assistant at the Palazzo del Quirinale (2016); Fondazione Zeri (2020, winner of the Torno Subito organized by Regione Lazio); editorial staff of «Horti Hesperidum» (2019, 2020, 2021); editorial staff of «Bollettino d’Arte» (2022, won following the selection “130 young people for culture” announced by the Ministry of Culture).
During his formation, he collaborated with: Laboratory of “Sources for the study of art history” of the University of Rome “Tor Vergata” (since 2017); research group on Father Sebastiano Resta (born as part of a MIUR - SIR 2014 research project) in relation to the publication Appunti sulla nozione di macchia negli scritti di padre Resta, in “Studi di Memofonte”, 25, 2020, pp. 189-194; Bibliotheca Hertziana to the “Transkribus-Ligorio” project (2021).
He participated as a speaker in numerous conferences and recently organized the conference “The words of the periodization of art history: eras, styles, manners in the texts of guides and historiography of the Seventeenth and Eighteenth centuries” (May 25-26 online, May 27 Palazzo Barberini). He’s the author of various scientific papers (including books and essays) in category A journals, scientific series and conference proceedings. His research interests are focused on Roman artistic historiography between the Seventeenth and Nineteenth centuries. He’s a member of the Beyond Borders research group (D.R. n. 1347 of 29/05/2019) with the project “Titi online” at the University of Rome "Tor Vergata" (2019-2023). Since 2021 he has been an adjunt professor at the 2nd level Master in “Nuove tecnologie per la comunicazione, il cultural management e la didattica della storia dell’arte: per una fruizione immersiva e multisensoriale dei Beni Culturali” MANT, at the University of Rome “Tor Vergata”. He is subject expert in “Museology and art criticism and restoration” (L-ART/04) for the academic year 2021-2022 (University of Rome “Tor Vergata”) and 2022-2023 (Sapienza University of Rome).
