Cristina Simonetti was born in Rome in 1.13.1966. Graduate degree (Laurea) in Humanities, Laurea thesis on “Adoption in the Old-Babylonian Period”, discussed in December 1990.
In 1992 she passed the relevant examinations giving access to two different Doctorate Programs in “Diritto Romano e Diritti dell’Oriente Mediterraneo” at the University “La Sapienza”, Rome, and in “Studi Mesopotamici” at the Istituto Universitario Orientale, Naples. Having enrolled in the “Diritto Romano e Diritti dell’Oriente Mediterraneo” at the University “La Sapienza”, Rome, on 5.28.1998 she discussed her Doctorate dissertation (PhD thesis) on “Sale of immovables in Mesopotamia in the Old-Babylonian Period” (“La compravendita di beni immobili in Mesopotamia in età antico-babilonese”).
In 2001 she passed the secondary school qualifying examinations as Teacher of Italian Literature and Latin; in 2002 she passed the secondary school qualifying examinations as Teacher of Greek.
From September 2002 to August 2006 she received a Researcher Grant (“assegno di ricerca”) in Roman Law and Ancient Law in the Faculty of Law at the University “La Sapienza” in Rome.
In September 2006 she became regular teacher of Italian Literature and Latin in the secondary school.
In January 2007 she was appointed Researcher (Ricercatore) in Roman Law in the Faculty of Law in the University of Rome “Tor Vergata” where she currently works.
In 2014 She has obtained the qualification as associate professor of Roman Law and Ancient Law (IUS 18).
In 2018 She has obtained the qualification as full professor of Roman Law and Ancient Law (IUS 18).
