Research: Reforms in the area of Social Security income: towards a sustainable and sufficient pension system
Cristina Ramírez Bandera graduated in Law and in Business Administration and Management from the University of Malaga. She has received several awards throughout her academic career, including the Extraordinary End-of-Degree Award granted by the University of Malaga (for having completed her studies with the best grade in her class), the Royal Academy of Jurisprudence and Legislation of Granada Award for the Best Academic Record of the 2022 Call (for having obtained the best academic record in the Degree in Law at the Universities of Granada, Jaen, Almeria and Malaga), the Honorable Mention in the VIII Julio Banacloche Award for the second best academic record in the Degree in Law at the Universities of Andalusia, the Award for the "Best Final Degree Project on Human Resources" awarded by the Master's Degree in Human Resources at the University of Malaga; the XII Gauss Prize for the best average grade of his class in the subjects of statistics and econometrics, awarded by the Department of Statistics and Econometrics of the University of Malaga; the Prize for the 10 best entrance qualifications to the University of Malaga (academic year 2016-2017), having obtained an access grade to the University of Malaga of 13.82; First Place in the IX Local Economics Olympiad of Malaga organized by the Faculty of Economics and Business Sciences of the University of Malaga; and the "City of Malaga" Education Award granted by the Malaga City Council, having obtained a Baccalaureate average grade of 10.00. She completed her Double Bachelor studies in June 2022, obtaining an average grade in the Bachelor of Laws of 9.74 and an average grade in the Bachelor of Business Administration and Management of 9.68. During the 2022-2023 academic year, she combined her studies in the Master's Degree in Legal-Labor Consulting at the “Universidad a Distancia de Madrid” (UDIMA) - from which she graduated obtaining the Extraordinary Award for the best record of her class, with an average grade of 9.62 - with her research work within the Department of Labor and Social Security Law of the University of Malaga as a researcher of the PAIDI SEJ-347 group "Employment Policies, Equality and Social Inclusion", as well as with her professional internship in the Employment & Labor Law Department of the Muñoz-Zurita consulting firm in Malaga capital. Additionally, during the 2023-2025 academic years she completed the Master's Degree in Legal and Attorney Practice at the Center for Financial Studies (CEF) in Madrid, also achieving an excellent academic record.
Currently, she is enrolled in the Doctorate Program in Social and Legal Sciences at the University of Malaga and in the Doctorate Program in Public, Comparative and International Law at the Università Sapienza di Roma, preparing her thesis entitled "Reforms in the area of Social Security income: towards a sustainable and sufficient pension system" under the direction of Prof. Francisco Vila Tierno at the University of Malaga and Prof.ssa Paola Bozzao at the Università Sapienza di Roma, being this research part of the National Project PID2022-140298NB-I00 "The Sustainability of the Pension System in contexts of reforms and economic instability", financed by the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities of Spain with a budget of 63,750.00 euros. To this end, she also has funding from the Spanish Ministry of Universities, having obtained in the 2022 call for applications one of the 24 grants for the Training of University Professors (FPU) offered nationwide for research in the field of Law, which allows her to combine her research activity with teaching work in the area of Labor and Social Security Law at the University of Malaga.
Despite her short academic career, she has already participated in numerous doctrinal and teaching publications, having taken part as a speaker in multiple international scientific conferences.
