Chiara Smeraldi (Rome, 2001) graduated with honors in January 2023 with a degree in Storic and Artistic studies from La Sapienza University of Rome, with a dissertation focusing on the relationship between André Chastel and Eugenio Battisti (supervisor Prof. Elisa Coletta). At the same University, she will obtain a master's degree with honors in Art History in January 2025, focusing on the figure and work of Eugenio Battisti (supervisor Prof. Marco Ruffini, co-supervisor Prof. Elisa Coletta). She enriched her education by attending an intensive CIVIS course at the Autonoma University of Madrid.
During her university studies, she collaborated with Galleria Spada (September-December 2021), carrying out research and guiding visitors through the collection, and with the Pinacoteca Capitolina (October 2023-May 2024), researching and writing for the project “Donne in Pinacoteca” and for the temporary exhibition “Goya e Caravaggio: verità e ribellione”. She also worked on the scientific project and organization of the conference “Tecnologie digitali come risorse per i Musei” on behalf of the Pinacoteca Capitolina.
She is currently a Ph. D. student with scholarship in Art History at La Sapienza University of Rome (XLI cycle) with a project dedicated to comic themes in the figurative arts between the 15th and 16th centuries.
