Research: Excess Weight in Adolescence: Prevalence, Perceptions, and Therapeutic Approaches to the Hidden Side of This Disease

Education, Training, and Scientific Interests
• Academic Year 2007–2008: Admission, following successful completion of the entrance examinations, to the Degree Programme in Medicine and Surgery at the Second Faculty of Medicine and Surgery, “La Sapienza” University of Rome.
• 23 July 2013: Graduation in Medicine and Surgery at the Second Faculty of “La Sapienza” University of Rome, with a final grade of 110/110 cum laude, with the thesis “Association of Arterial Stiffness with Microvascular Complications in Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus”; Supervisor: Prof. F. Conti; Co-supervisor: Prof. G. Pugliese.
• January 2015 – January 2020: Admission, after passing the competitive entrance examination, to the Residency Programme in Endocrinology and Metabolic Diseases at the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery, University of Siena. • 30 June 2018 – 3 July 2018: Participation in the EASO Summer School: Training the Trainers in the Prevention and Management of Obesity (Les Pensières, Fondation Mérieux – France).
• 5–7 December 2019: Participation in the SIO Obesity School (Florence), during which the Certificate of Expertise in the Management of Patients with Obesity was awarded.
• 17 January 2020: Specialization in Endocrinology and Metabolic Diseases at the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery, University of Siena, with a final grade of 70/70 cum laude, with the thesis “Expression Profile of Circulating microRNAs in Patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus Treated with GLP 1 Receptor Agonists”; Supervisor: Prof. F. Dotta. 16 July 2020 – • 16 January 2021: Research fellowship for the project “Monitoring the therapeutic efficacy and adverse effects of innovative anti‑hyperglycaemic drugs for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus,” carried out at the Diabetes Unit (UOC di Diabetologia) of the Siena University Hospital (Azienda Ospedaliero‑Universitaria Senese), Siena.
• Academic Year 2020/2021 – ongoing: PhD candidate in Endocrine Sciences at “La Sapienza” University of Rome, with the research project “Excess Weight in Adolescence: Prevalence, Perceptions, and Therapeutic Approaches to the Hidden Side of This Disease.”
• 11 May 2022: Obtained the Board Certified Medical Affairs Specialist (BCMAS) certification. Current Position: Medical Advisor for Obesity, Novo Nordisk S.p.A., Rome.
