FULL PROFESSOR OF ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN at the ETS Arquitectura, University of Seville (US). Director of the University Institute of Architecture and Construction Sciences (IUACC) since 2015 and President of the US Architecture PhD Program (2016-2020). Director of the Arquitectura-Textos de Doctorado collection of Editorial Universidad de Sevilla (since 2017). VISITING PROFESSOR at the Università IUAV di Venezia (2016), at the University of Applied Sciences in Bochum (2013 to 2015) and at the Accademia di Architettura di Mendrisio (2012). Guest Professor in four foreign doctoral programs, in thirteen master's degrees, in conferences, courses, seminars and workshops in Portugal, Switzerland, France, Italy, Germany, Greece, Argentina, Mexico, Brazil, Chile and Colombia. He has also carried out research stays at the Faculdade de Arquitetura of the University of Lisbon (2012); the IUAV University of Venice (2013) and the ENSA Paris-Malaquais (2015). Specialist in Architectural Heritage, Gardens and Cultural Landscapes, he is Principal Investigator of several state R+D+i projects. He has published ten books, sixty book chapters and more than fifty articles indexed in international databases. He leads the Lab HTL-NET Heritage Tourism Landscape Network Laboratory US. He was the Director of the International Forum of Roman Theaters (2014-2019), Advisor to the Andalusian Institute of Historical Heritage IAPH (1990-2001) and Member of the Andalusian Commission of Archeology (1997-2003). Evaluator of the research activity of spanish agencies ANECA, ANEP, AEI and CNEAI, of italian agency ANVUR and of regional agency ACSUCYL. He has received numerous professional awards, among others: PRAM, PREMIO INTERNAZIONALE SUL RESTAURO E ARCHITETTURE MEDITERRANE (2013); selected work at the FAD AWARDS 2012; finalist of the II MEDITERRANEAN LANDSCAPE AWARD 2007; finalist for the PUBLICATIONS AWARD of the XIV SPANISH BIENNIAL OF ARCHITECTURE AND URBAN PLANNING 2018; GOLD MEDAL FOR THE DEFENSE OF HERITAGE 2007; VOTE OF LOUVOR (LAUDATIO) from the University of Lisbon 2012.
