Research: Conflict and Peace in the World of Work: Primo Levi's "Grey Zone" for an Interdisciplinary Analysis of Management

Armando Arata is a PhD candidate in Peace Studies, Curriculum 8 - Literatures, Arts, Philosophies, and Imaginaries of Peace, with a research project titled “Conflict and Peace in the World of Work: Primo Levi's ‘Grey Zone’ for an Interdisciplinary Analysis of Management.” He studied Philosophy at the University of Turin, where he graduated with honours in 2021, defending a thesis entitled “Christophe Dejours. A Theory of Work.” During his academic training, he completed study and research stays at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (2015), the Université Paris Nanterre (2017, 2019), and the Institut de Psychodynamique du Travail in Paris (2020–2021). He is the co-translator of the book “L'ingranaggio siamo noi” (Mimesis, 2021) and the author of the article “Autour de Primo Levi et de la zone grise: une réflexion sur l’usage de cette notion pour l’analyse du travail contemporain” (Travailler, 2023/2, n° 50). Since 2023, he has been a correspondent for the contemporary philosophy journal Philosophy Kitchen, where he closely follows the French philosophical publishing landscape, focusing primarily on reviews of recently published books. His main research interests include French social philosophy, the psychodynamics of work, and the Frankfurt School.
