Thesis title: Analisi exergetica, economica e di impatto ambientale dell’Impianto CCGT alimentato a Gas Naturale di Chivasso (To)

This doctoral thesis analyzes existing combined cycle gas turbine (CCGT) power plants, providing a brief overview of the state-of-the-art of this type of ECS (Energy Conversion System). By collecting design data and real-time operating parameters for all components of the CCGT (Combined Cycle Gas Turbine) plant chosen as a case study, the plant's thermodynamic performance is analyzed through energy analysis (energy balances) and exergy analysis (exergy balances). A technical-economic analysis of the plant is then conducted, having collected data on the plant's operating and investment costs. The key economic indicators (profit ratio, net present value, payback period) are calculated. An environmental impact analysis is then proposed, calculating CO2, NOx, and CO emissions during a year of full-power operation. Finally, a research is proposed that leads to a thermo-economic analysis based on the two previous analyses (exergy and techno-economic), to derive the main thermo-economic parameters (exergo-economic factor, relative cost difference, etc.) through the principles and rules of Thermo-economics (or Exergo-economics).
