STUDIES
1985, Master's Graduated (score 110/110 cum laude and thesis published) in Building Engineering at the "Sapienza" University of Rome with the experimental thesis "An ideal stratified hot water storage tank and an integrated plant-solar panel-building-climate energy model". It was one of the first comprehensive model simulating building energy loads in Europe.
1991, PhD in Architecture and Building Engineering, with a thesis "Yesterday's and today's theatres".
1993, Post-PhD grant: "Theatres, constructive and technological aspects".

2002-06, “CAAD Laboratory” subject, of the three-year Bachelor degree course in Building Engineering – Rieti’s site;
1994-present, Supervisor or vice-supervisor of several Master degree theses.
At Sapienza University of Rome promotes Summer schools on Digital fabrication and teaches in a Master on BIM.

2012-16, “Built Heritage Information Modelling/Management - BHIMM” prof. Stefano Della Torre national Coordinator, funded by the Italian Ministry of University and Research - PRIN (National Interest Research Program). He is a member of Rome Research Unit, local Coordinator prof. Donatella Fiorani. The importance and the novelty of research is related to apply and develop BIM platforms to Italian historical heritage. His task is focused on the more advanced aspects of research: knowledge formalization during archaeological site studies using ontologies and inferential rules.

2012-13, “BKM – Building Knowledge Modeling: structuring building knowledge for a new generation tools”, funded by MAE (Ministry of Foreign Affairs). An Italian-Israelite joined research program with Technion University at Haifa. It has been studied the relationships between architectural design and most innovative knowledge model ICT tools. A system prototype has been defined by means of a "mixed" platform made up by current application programs and "ad hoc" software tools.

He is author or editor of more than 100 papers in journals, proceedings, Web sites, and monographs. All papers and essays have been submitted to double blind peer referee committees.
Many papers are present in CumInCAD (http://cumincad.scix.net/cgi-bin/works/Home), the most important database of research papers on CAAD in architecture, urban planning, education and construction fields.
