Research: Fragmentations of Care - Gender, Migration and Motherhood in Protection Systems Against Violence
Anna Micol Tropeano is a PhD student in Peace Studies at the University of Rome La Sapienza, in the curriculum 10 ‘Dynamics, processes and actors in international relations’ and conducts research at the Department of Culture, Politics and Society at the University of Turin. Her research project, in collaboration with IRES Piemonte (Institute for Economic and Social Research), focuses on gender-based violence and migration, with a specific focus on women victims of trafficking and motherhood. The project is developed at the intersection between the anti-trafficking network and the anti-violence network. Within the University of Turin, she is part of the research group ‘S.O.S. Orfani Speciali’ (S.O.S. Special Orphans), a project on the protection of minors orphaned by femicide.
Her research interests range, both nationally and internationally, from male violence against women to child protection and migration processes.
She has also completed training as an anti-violence operator with the Piedmont Region.
