Research: Queer Inhabitation: Gender Geographies and Home-making Practices between Rome and Lisbon

Anna Marocco is a PhD candidate in Engineering-based Architecture and Urban Planning at the Sapienza University of Rome in joint PhD with IGOT, Institute of Geography and Spatial Planning - the University of Lisbon. She is a multidisciplinary artist (photographer, dancer, choreographer), somatic therapist, and educator. Her current research project, titled "Queer Inhabitation: Gender Geographies and Home-making Practices between Rome and Lisbon," adopts an intersectional queer lens and investigates the place and home-(un)making practices of queer urban communities in these two cities. She previously graduated with a Master's degree in political science from the University of Bologna (2007), with an urban anthropological research thesis with the title "Social networks and residential strategies of urban inclusion" conducted in Dakar and funded by Alma Mater Studiorum (University of Bologna).
