Research: The development of a storytelling for Virtual Reality: authorship and critique in the intersection between cinema and VR
Curriculum: Studies on Theatre, Performing Arts, Film and Digital Performance
Research:
Virtual Reality (VR) is only one of the possible dimensions of the wider Extended Reality system. The development of this kind of devices has had an impact on many professional, educational and social fields. The research project aims to develop an analysis focused on the artistic point of view on a narrative construction in VR, in order to identify both
advantages and risks associated to a virtual storytelling. Although attempts to trace the boundaries of a Virtual Reality narrative are neither rare nor strictly recent, in this context more specific questions will be addressed regarding the perception of an artistic product in VR, with the aim of identifying points of contact and divergence between the cinematic and the virtual experience.
