Research: The manuscript sources of Old Roman chant: books, scripts, notations
After obtained her Diploma in Pianoforte (M° Gianni Saponara) at the Conservatorio di Musica "Nino Rota" of Monopoli (BA) and a Bachelor’s degree in "Cultural Heritage" at the University of Bari "Aldo Moro" with top honors cum laude (supervisor Prof. Clelia Gattagrisi), Angela Stefania Lamanna continued her studies at the same University, where she achieved her Master's degree in "Archival and Library Heritage" with the final evaluation of 110/110 cum laude and honorable mention (supervisor Prof. Paolo Fioretti, co-supervisor Prof. Laura Albiero).
At the same time, Lamanna improved her studies both in the archival field, obtaining the Diploma di Archivistica, Paleografia e Diplomatica at the Archivio di Stato in Bari, and in the musical field, being admitted to attend a Master of Advanced Studies (MAS) in "Gregorian chant, Palaeography and Semiology” at the Conservatorio della Svizzera italiana in Lugano (CH).
She is adviser of the Associazione Internazionale Studi di Canto Gregoriano (AISCGre) - Italian section.
Since 2021, she is a PhD student in "Scienze del Testo dal Medioevo alla Modernità: Filologie medievali, Paleografia, Studi romanzi" - XXXVII cycle, at Sapienza University of Rome, with a project concerning the codicological, palaeographic and musical analysis of the manuscript sources of Old-Roman chant.
