Andrea is Researcher Director at the National Research Council of Italy (CNR), Visiting Fellow at Birkbeck Centre for Innovation Management Research, University of London.
He has been Fulbright-Schuman Post Doc at Harvard University, Center for European Studies, and Marie Curie Fellow at the London School of Economics and Political Science, Department of Geography and Environment.
He is interested in innovation, the globalization of intellectual property rights, technological change and productivity growth. He has published his research in international journals such as Research Policy, Industry and Innovation, Technological Forecasting and Social Change, World Development, Regional Studies. He has recently published The Handbook of Global Science, Technology, and Innovation, Wiley.
He has worked as advisor for the Italian Ministry of Economic Development at the Department for Cohesion and Economic Development (DPS), the Italian Agency for the Promotion of Technologies for Innovation, the European Commission, the United Nations Education Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), the Directorate Growth and Innovation of the Joint Research Centre (JRC) of the European Commission, and the OECD Centre for Entrepreneurship, SMEs, Regions and Cities.
