Research: Intervisuality and Intertextuality: Imaginaries of Peace and Love from Philostratus Minor’s Text to Classroom Teaching
My name is Altomare Distaso, a classical philologist with a solid academic background and a particular interest in intervisuality, the reception of Greek texts, and their iconographic reinterpretations, especially in Philostratus the Younger’s Imagines. After graduating with honors from the University of Bari and the University of Bologna, I deepened my studies on the tradition and transmission of the classics. Currently, within the framework of the National PhD Program in Peace Studies, my research focuses on exploring the various articulations of the concept of peace and conflict in Greek texts, both at the intrapersonal and interpersonal levels. Alongside my research, I have gained significant experience as a teacher at different school levels and as an archivist, developing skills in education as well as in the digitization of historical documents.
