Research: The historical evolution of the political identity of the Italian left: from the Pci to the Pd (1989-2007)
The research project aims to conduct a historical study on the diverse and complex developments that, since the dissolution of the Italian Communist Party, through the Democratic Party of the Left and the Democrats of the Left, led to the formation of the Democratic Party on October 14, 2007. Thoughts, party and government choices. Tensions, conflicts, splits, and agreements. The ambitions of a ruling class that overcame the pillars of Hercules of the so-called First Republic and sought its own, at times contradictory, new identity, while the country was going through one of its most turbulent and stormy periods.
