The Dr. Eduard Gübelin Fellowship, is an annual fellowship awarded to an innovative research project in the field of gemology awarded by the Dr. Eduard Gübelin Association for Gemstone Research and Identification - a nonprofit entity of the Gübelin Group. The grant is intended to provide funding and support for Master/PhD students or postdoctoral researchers in the fields of earth sciences (mineralogy, geology, geochemistry), crystallography, chemistry, physics, materials science, archaeology, biology and related fields to pursue a research project in the earth sciences or a related scientific field.
The successful project proposal must be truly innovative, with demonstrable innovative thinking; it must venture into new areas, test new concepts and methods, and thus contribute to the advancement of gemological knowledge.
