MedILS Summer School in Science Communication will be held at the beautiful Mediterranean Institute for Life Sciences (MedILS)
in Split, Croatia from July 18th to July 22nd, 2022.

The aim of this School is to bring together an interdisciplinary community of participants enthusiastic about
science and who wants to improve their career through clear, engaging, and impactful communication. Main
topics of this School will include: Media training or how to effectively communicate your message while
keeping the media happy, Communication and presentation skills within scientific community, Importance of
communicating science in a broader context while reflecting on yourself and the whole society. Our experts
will guide and train the participants through reflective, mindful, and active communication exercises.
We are happy to announce that Quentin Cooper, one of the most familiar and popular UK voices of science &
technology, will be one of our trainers! He is a hugely experienced host, trainer and lecturer in communication
and journalism who has worked in over 60 countries running a huge range of workshops, conferences,
broadcasts and other events. He is described by The Times as both “the world’s most enthusiastic man” and
“an expert on everything from pop music to astrophysics”. So don’t miss this opportunity, join us and improve
your career with science communication – an important transferable skill for researchers!
We will welcome 20 – 30 young researchers (master students, PhD students, postdocs), but experienced
researchers are also welcome!
