Educational goals and objectives

PUBLIC, COMPARATIVE AND INTERNATIONAL LAW
This PhD Programme pursues the prestigious tradition of public law studies within our University since its establishment. Moreover, the programme trains researchers in investigating concerns within public laws from different perspectives. These include the study of the Italian legal system and comparative and international law, with specific reference to human rights. To achieve this, it focuses on the analysis of contemporary state law, including the Italian and comparative constitutional law, European public law, environmental law and the laws of economy and human rights. The PhD programme is organised around four topics: a) Administrative Law of Environment and Public Health; b) Comparative and Italian Constitutional Law; c) Public Economic Law; and d) International Order and Human Rights.

Admission Procedure

Qualifications assessment An initial screening will take place on the basis of the reseach proposal and academic qualifications submitted by each applicant. Candidates who pass the first stage will then be called for an interview.

Oral interview In the oral exam the knowledge of the disciplinary areas related to the chosen curriculum will be ascertained and the research project presented will be also analyzed. During the oral exam the knowledge of one of the languages ​​indicated besides Italian will also be verified.

more info Those who obtain a score of 40/60 in the assessment of their qualifications and research project are admitted to the oral test. The results of the selection will be announced on the doctoral website by 12 September. The oral test will take place on 15 September in the room announced on the doctoral website when the results of the first test are published.

The proposal should be original. To be positively assessed the proposal should be strictly articulated as follows: 1) Title; 2) State of the art (main trends and arguments in contemporary research on the subject chosen) (max 2.000 characters, including spaces); 3) A detailed description of the project highlighting its originality in relation to the existing literature on the subject as well as the different research hypothesis, and, also, specifying the relevant stages in its development and completion (max 15.000 characters, including spaces); 4) Selected bibliography (max 20 publications), the file must be uploaded within 25/08/2022
